The Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra will take the stage at the Aratani Theatre on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 7pm, for a special Fire Benefit Concert. The event aims to support LA-based instrumentalists who were severely impacted by the devastating wildfires that swept through the region in January.

Among the performers is 15-year-old Mayra Gonzalez, a student at Hamilton High School and a passionate member of the orchestra. For her, the concert represents more than just a performance—it’s a way to help her community heal through music.
“Being able to help the community by making music feels even more impactful,” Gonzalez said. “It’s something I love doing, and it resonates with me because so many musicians in LA lost their homes and their instruments—tools they use to connect with others.”
The cause is deeply personal for Gonzalez and her fellow musicians. She shared that during a recent rehearsal, they learned that one of the orchestra’s string players lost their home in the fires.
“That made it even more important for us,” she said. “He’ll be playing in the concert. It really hits home.”
In addition to playing cello with the HOLA orchestra, Gonzalez is also active in her school’s chamber choir, band, and mariachi ensemble.
Tickets to the benefit concert are free, with donations welcomed. All proceeds will go directly to musicians in need.
