Heart of Los Angeles Day 2024 broke organizational records! 141 volunteers (our highest number EVER!) gathered at our Central LA campus to volunteer, transforming our Arts and Recreation Center into a hub of community spirit, creativity, and generosity! We’re so proud of our Heart of Los Angeles family! The beautification team tackled the park, removing trash and weeds from our gardens and decorating planters for our new succulent garden planted by YOU. Classrooms were scrubbed clean, and banners were painted. All this hard work hard work ensures our kiddos will return to a safe and gorgeous campus this Fall.
In 2020, Eric Garcetti announced the city holiday, Heart of Los Angeles Day, to honor our decades of community impact. We are honored to share in this volunteer tradition with the Heart of Los Angeles community year after year. We’re so grateful to each and every volunteer who picked up a shovel, paintbrush, and backpack. Huge thank you to our partners: Baby2Baby, Big Sunday, DaVinci Baby, Mauna Loa, Netflix, Paramount Pictures, and SoCal Gas, as well as our Hero of the Heart Sponsor People’s Choice Beef Jerky whose commitment to the youth of our city made this giveaway extra special.
