HOLA Campus
HOLA’s four-building, 24,000 square foot campus includes multiple classrooms, an art gallery, library and studio, three computer labs, music/orchestra rooms, an athletic facility with a full gymnasium, a state-of-the-art field turf soccer field and more.
HOLA Central: HOLA’s main facility houses HOLA’s academic programs, as well as our counseling and parent services programs. This facility is in need of significant IT upgrades and new equipment in order to adequately function as the technological hub for the HOLA campus.

HOLA Royale: The historic Wilshire Royale building, located directly east of HOLA’s main facility, is home to HOLA’s Visual Arts Department. This facility provides students and teachers with an inspirational space dedicated solely to their artistic evolution. The Wilshire Royale provides a home for our thriving dance and visual arts departments, as well as HOLA’s extensive art library.

HOLA North: With the relocation of our Visual Arts Department, HOLA North has been renovated to expand the capacity of our SmartStart elementary education program and also to house HOLA’s newest program, Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA). We are very excited to be partnering with the LA Philharmonic Association to serve as the second site of the youth orchestra outreach program, which successfully launched last September. In the program’s first year, HOLA engaged 100 elementary students in intensive music instruction. This fall, the program has expanded to serve 160 elementary school-aged students.

HOLA at Lafayette Park: Thanks to a precedent-setting partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, HOLA has expanded its programs to provide exceptional academic, arts, recreation and athletics programs out of the recently renovated Lafayette Park Community Center located across the street from HOLA’s main facility. This new eco-friendly, LEED certified 12,200 square foot facility features brand new multipurpose classroom spaces, a technology lab and a state of the art gymnasium. This rebuilt and expanded center opened for programming in March, 2011, providing Heart of Los Angeles with the opportunity to increase the number of neighborhood youth served by over 60%.
The building was designed by Stephen Kanner at Kanner Architects. Stephen was the founder and chairman of the Architecture + Design Museum in Los Angeles, where he was a key organizer and participant in numerous and significant exhibits. The Lafayette Park Building is the first City of Recreation and Parks project to be LEED certified.
