Born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Kevin’s passion to assist at-risk, underrepresented youth in the education field began when he became involved in community organizing, co-founding the Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) at UC Berkeley. As co-president of the club, Kevin implemented several events to promote unity among Cal’s Queer community as well as building mentorship opportunities under a college access angle among Queer college students and self-identified LGBTQ high school students through Cal’s 1st Queer Youth Leadership Camp, now known as Young Leaders for Empowerment & Advocacy.

After graduating from UC Berkeley, Kevin joined Juma Ventures where he worked as a Youth Development Coordinator in the college access field teaching low-income, first generation students financial literacy, the educational pipeline, and assisting them in transitioning out of high school into college all under a social justice perspective. Kevin is excited to work with HOLA alumni and not only assist them throughout their college experience and into the workforce, but also empower them to realize and achieve their potential.
