Emmanuel was born in Mexico City in 1991. At the age of 12, his family moved to Los Angeles. After living in LA for a year, Emmanuel joined HOLA. He immediately discovered the art department and dedicated himself to becoming an artist. Currently he is in his second year at Santa Monica City College. As the first generation of his family to go to college, he hopes to transfer to a four year art school. Emmanuel is currently an HOLA Artist Mentor in Resident. The residency is a year-long position to mentor HOLA youth in the arts, create and share artwork, assist HOLA staff in workshops and special projects, and be an active presence in the HOLA Art Studio.
