Emma oversees all aspects of the Choir and Singing program as the Singing and Solfege Specialist for YOLA at HOLA. She is a talented singer, songwriter and musician, receiving a number of recognitions for her work. Her music has been reviewed in magazines and played on the radio, and she has received scholarships and awards for singing, songwriting and musicianship. Originally from Australia, Emma is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and also The University of Queensland. Emma is passionate about singing and has been involved in choirs since childhood. She has worked with students of all ages from 15-month olds in baby and parent early childhood music education classes, all the way up to senior citizens, including those with special needs and from vastly diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. Emma brings a vibrantly optimistic quality to her students that inspires confidence and instills the importance of music education in social development. Emma encourages the philosophy that music builds bridges, crosses borders and transforms communities. For Emma, music is exciting and thrilling, it is the language everyone speaks. In her spare time, Emma enjoys letting her soul sing through dance.
