The Taller de Madres was started in 2009 by Maria Galicia, HOLA’s Fine Arts coordinator. Twice a week, HOLA mothers and relatives meet at the Royale to work on art projects. The workshops include ceramics, paper mache and quilting. The Taller de Madres is a structured class, as well as a social gathering for the mothers, grandmothers, and relatives of HOLA students. Young children are also welcome. The work that they create is for sale and the proceeds go to funding future projects.
