The Harlem Globetrotters Share Positive Message at HOLA
The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters delighted HOLA students this week, using humor and fancy tricks to drive home an important message.
Globetrotters told a gym-full of kids that it doesn’t matter if they want to be the president of the United States, the youth of the year, or the top finisher in a spelling bee — they just need to set goals and stick to them.
“Find out everything you can about your goal through research. Surround yourself with positive people who have the same goals and believe you can do it,” they said. “If you can believe it, you can achieve it.”
They also reminded our kids the importance of treating your body right, reading as much as you can, and always trying your best. HOLA’s rock band closed the evening with a performance of the Globetrotters’ signature song, “Sweet Georgia Brown.”
For 90 years, the team has been touring the world, breaking cultural and social barriers along with basketball records. They continue a world famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages. We’re so glad they were able to visit us!
