HOLA on YouTube

TheGroupHOLA was honored to welcome a delegation of visitors from the Russian Federation who were visiting the United States at the invitation of the State Department, as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program. The focus of their visit to the States was on migration policy. With the help of a translator, Tony Brown, Silvia Velazquez (Bridges Middle School Director) and Brittany Mejia (SmartStart Elementary School Director), spoke to the group about Heart of Los Angeles and the work that we do providing free quality programs to underserved youth. The lively discussion was followed by a question and answer session and a tour of HOLA’s facilities. The delegation was grateful for the experience and expressed their appreciation in a letter to the entire organization. The letter reads in part:

We were very impressed by the work being conducted by the Heart of Los Angeles for LA children. You are highly qualified, open, honest, and creative people. We wish you every success. We learned a lot and will try to use the knowledge for our work in Russia. Thanks to the entire staff and volunteers of the Heart of Los Angeles.
