The luncheon served as the kick-off event of the 2015 Women’s Leadership Series and gave hundreds of young women the opportunity to network with successful Los Angeles women. During the event, the youth were given personalized business cards, which they used to network with professionals and learn essential networking skills. The girls also had the opportunity to explore various career paths. The inspiring keynote address was given by Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer of Facebook and author of Lean In.

Seniors Edna Cerritos and Dreima Flores, Junior Cynthia Gonzalez and Sophomore Ailen Salazar attended the event and each young woman walked away inspired and excited. Dreima shared her feelings about the day saying, “It was an amazing experience meeting successful women from different backgrounds, and also meeting young girls who share the same goals as I do. The thing that I loved the most about the luncheon was hearing the speech from Sheryl Sandberg. She gave six amazing tips in which I’ve been following this week and she’s right about one thing, never apologize for speaking up!”
