HOLA on YouTube

Although Mary has only been volunteering with HOLA for a short time, she already loves coming in every week to work with the kids in the Bridges Middle School program. With her math background in tow, she works with the kids to help them grasp concepts they are struggling with and when everything clicks into place, she and the kids feel a huge sense of accomplishment. Mary loves the flexibility that volunteering at HOLA allows and she finds it very rewarding to work one-on-one with multiple students each day.

Mary has been a big fan of HOLA for a long time. Her husband has been involved for quite a while and she has attended many HOLA events, including the annual Holiday of the Heart galas. When her employer, Farmer’s Insurance, started encouraging employees to volunteer and become more involved in the community, Mary jumped on the opportunity and knew that HOLA was the place for her. In addition to HOLA’s strong commitment to academics, she thinks it’s really great that we are able to connect our students with great opportunities in the community, including a chance to meet working musicians and artists.
