HOLA on YouTube

Heart of Los Angeles is thrilled to welcome back Cristina Vasquez and Marco Sanchez as this year’s Scholars in Residence. Both alumni are currently attending Cal State Northridge. Christina is in her fourth year, majoring in Child Development, Applied Sciences and Pre-Med and Marco is a freshman, thinking about majoring in Political Science. Cristina and Marco were both very involved in HOLA’s high school programming and credit the experiences they had here with helping them get to where they are today. As Scholars in Residence, they will be supporting the work of HOLA’s Alumni Director, Andrea Cova. Their primary tasks will be to develop programming for the active alumni (who now number over 200), focusing in particular on workshops over the summer and the annual retreat in January.

When not busy with school or working at HOLA, Marco loves all types of music and to play soccer and basketball. He hopes to study in Spain during his junior year in college. Cristina keeps herself very busy too. She is a student assistant in the University’s Teacher Curriculum Center, she plays intramural basketball and volleyball and she enjoys doing community service. Welcome back Cristina and Marco!
