HOLA on YouTube

As HOLA’s fall session drew to a close, the holiday spirit could be felt all around. As the hardworking young musicians of HOLA’s Private Lessons Studio prepared to perform, Danielle Braus from Alfred Music Publishing presented the HOLA Music Department with an incredible donation of sheet music and instruction books, valued at over $3,000. After the presentation, the students put on an impressive recital for proud families, friends, and HOLA Staff

HOLA’s Big Band kicked off the recital with a rendition of ┬áTito Puente’s “Oye Como Va” that included by every student in the band. The concert continued with students performing songs on guitar, drums, and piano, highlighted by senior Michelle Kweon’s masterful “Impromptu No. 4 in C# Minor” by Chopin. The concert was a blend of traditional and modern music, alternating between Handel and Green Day. The evening concluded with performances from the Junior and Senior Rock Bands, including a rock version of the rap classic “California Love” by Tupac Shakur.
