HOLA on YouTube

Congratulations to Sonia Salazar, Bridges Coordinator AND HOLA alum! Sonia recently received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College. She managed to do this while working at HOLA and interning at Sandra Cisneros Learning Academy #4, part of the Camino Nuevo Charter schools. Her internship has been giving her real world experience. For the past several months she has been doing individual dynamic play therapy with elementary and middle school students, as well as running an all girls therapy group.

Sonia started coming to HOLA when she was a junior in high school. She credits HOLA with opening her world up to so many possibilities, including obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Chicano/a Studies from UC Santa Barbara. Now that she has a little free time she wants to try out more restaurants, take her dogs out for more walks, catch up on her sleep and get back to running. We wish Sonia all the best. Lucky for HOLA, she will be sticking around at least until the end of the year when she hopes to find a full time position as a Marriage and Family Therapist here in our community.
