It’s Not too Late to Make a Donation to HOLA
Hi! My name is Gladys and I’m 13 years old. I am writing to wish you a very happy holiday season and to ask you to please support HOLA’s academics, arts and athletics programs for at-risk and underserved youth. It’s easy to do – just click here. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I have been taking visual arts classes at HOLA for the last two years. I come to HOLA four days a week and I would come the extra day if I could. Every session I take as many art classes as I can. I’ve taken drawing, painting, mixed media, film, photography and lots of other classes, but my favorite class is ceramics. I like the freedom the ceramics class offers. I can pick what I want to make and working with the clay makes me feel happy.
I love coming to HOLA! I walk straight from school and I usually get there pretty early. When I get there, I always do my homework and if I need any help, there is always a tutor around to help me. My favorite subject is physics and I want to study science when I go to college. Next year, I am going to join HOLA’s high school program. HOLA is like my home away from home. I feel safe when I’m at HOLA. The teachers are like family to me. I feel very lucky that my aunt and uncle take care of me, but I miss my mom and my grandma. They live really far away and I haven’t seen them in a long time. HOLA helps make that a little bit easier for me.
Without Heart of Los Angeles – and supporters like you – I wouldn’t be heading off into the future with confidence and excitement.
Please consider making a donation to HOLA. Thank you in advance for your belief in Heart of Los Angeles and investment in students like me. If you’ve already made a donation this year, all of us at HOLA thank you and ask you to please consider an additional contribution during this holiday season.
