HOLA’s Counseling Department got a huge boost this year with the support of two interns, Daniel Lyman and Lauren Seo. Working under the guidance of HOLA’s Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Nancy Dodge, Daniel and Lauren spent upwards of 15 hours each week at HOLA working with the students. Both worked one-on-one with students and Daniel lead one group with several students in HOLA’s art program. As HOLA continues to grow, the needs of our students grow with us and it is often difficult to help all those in need. Daniel and Lauren provided invaluable assistance and support to many HOLA students and their impact has been felt throughout the organization. Lauren found it very rewarding to “see the kids grow and achieve positive outcomes.” Daniel was thrilled “to be included in the HOLA family.” Daniel just finished his first year at USC in a combined Master’s in Social Work and Master’s in Public Policy program and Lauren just received her Masters in Family Therapy from Loyola Marymount University with a concentration in Art Therapy. A huge thank you to both Daniel and Lauren. HOLA is truly grateful for your dedication to HOLA and our kids, you will both be sorely missed.
