25 students, from elementary to high school, attended MOCA’s “Art in the Streets” exhibition. This is HOLA’s third visit to MOCA this year. Earlier this year a partnership was set up between HOLA and MOCA’s education and curatorial departments. As part of the partnership, HOLA students and their families can receive free access to MOCA for a year. HOLA has received curator and apprentice-led tours and workshops in the museum, as well as a generous donation to the Visual Arts Library.

“Art in the Streets” is the first street art and graffiti exhibition in a major museum. In the Rampart District, graffiti is a part of everyday life. While at the museum, the students explored the differences between vandalism and gang graffiti and street art. In addition, the HOLA students made animations and short films at the Levis Film workshop.
