These artists were part of a five – week class exploring what makes Los Angeles meaningful to them through drawing and painting, offered at the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), a youth development center in the Rampart district, in partnership with the Ryman Program for the Arts. “This project represents the cultural diversity and varying ideas and politics that are part of this wonderful city. These artists explored Los Angeles as the basis of their homes and the many things that motivate and inspire them in their daily lives,” said HOLA’s Fine Arts Manager Melanie Lockert.
